How Swipe Plans Work
Swipe Plans include three types of value that work together to cover meals and snacks on campus:

Guest Meals
Important Details
- All Meal Plan funds expire at the end of the academic year.
- Swipe Meal Plans can be updated at any time. Downgrades or cancellations can only be done during the first two weeks of the Fall semester.
- Swipe Plan pricing is for the full academic year and is billed to Bursar accounts. The total cost is split between Fall and Spring semesters.
- Swipe Meal Plans are exempt from State tax.
- Contact the Meal Plans office for prorated pricing for mid-year purchases.
If a change needs to be requested after the plan has been assigned, review the Plan Change Request Guidelines.
Who Should Choose a Swipe Plan?
Swipe Plans are required for:
- First-time first-year students living on campus
- All Honors Village residents
Swipe Plans are a good fit for students:
- Living on campus
- Eat most meals on campus
- Want predictable meal access during the semester
- Prefer a structured meal plan

Choose the Swipe Plan that best matches how often a student plans to eat on campus. Swipes are allocated monthly. Plan names are a recommendation of Swipe allocation per week.

2026-2027 Monthly Allocation
Swipe Meal Plans are distributed in monthly allocations to help students manage meals throughout the semester. Swipes reset each month and must be used within the month they are issued, encouraging consistent and balanced use over time. Swipe Plan names help recommend usage per week.

CATCA$H
CatCa$h is a voluntary, taxable account for non-food purchases on campus, including printing and Campus Store items. It can be used at Arizona Dining locations and select off-campus retailers. Funds are loaded onto CatCards and can be added anytime through the Meal Plans Portal.
BLOCK 10
Block 10 adds ten extra Swipes toexisting Swipe Meal Plan. Ideal for busy weeks or additional meals during Move-In Week, Finals Week, & Spring Break. Block 10 Swipes are purchased through the Meal Plans Portal and expire at the end of the academic year.

If a student is unsure which Swipe Plan to choose, selecting a higher plan is recommended if most meals will be eaten on campus. Plans may be upgraded at any time.
