Student Union Beginnings (1950)
back :: home :: next

Student Union Construction begins on the parking lot, west side of the Women's Building. Seen from the sidewalk is the east end of the old Navy "Mess Hall" at the left, and next to is the Power Plant. The small building being demolished on the right is the Carpentry Shop—the "new brick barn" constructed in 1905. Just behind it is part of the Aeronautical Building.
This is the south wing going
up where the Dining Hall had been.
This is the north wing, containing the vital cafeteria and kitchen, which had to be completed before the old Dining Hall was demolished.
