The University's first campus grocery store where students can purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, deli items, health and beauty necessities, as well as a variety of meats and frozen items. The market also features an espresso bar, a sandwich deli including rotisserie chicken, a grill, a salad bar, and ample seating indoors and out in a unique market atmosphere.
"The Highland Market is a unique cooperative effort between Residence Life and the Arizona Student Unions," said David Galbraith, dining services director. "It is the first attempt to enable on-campus students to purchase groceries with their meal plan cards without having to leave campus."
Jim Van Arsdel, director of Residence Life and University Housing stated, "We wanted to create a neighborhood gathering place for students, staff and the local community. A place where anyone can drop in for a healthy bite, have coffee or tea with friends, and enjoy the one-of-a-kind architecture and atmosphere."
The Highland Market is open early and closes late, hours are 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. Mon-Fri and 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Sat & Sun, and is located on the corner of Sixth and Highland, next to El Portal in the Highland Commons Housing District.
