Pima Leadership Institute
Overview of the Pima Leadership Institute
Pima Leadership Institute is the leadership development program at Pima Community College modeled from the curriculum and structure of the Arizona Blue Chip Program. Pima Leadership Institute provides opportunities for enhancement in the areas of diversity, service, integrity and excellence and allows students in general interest, direct-work and transfer programs to gain a leadership experience that meets their individual needs. Students in the Pima Leadership Institute participate in a 3-level program.
Level 1: Pima Community College students can attend workshops or a retreat to learn concepts such as personal leadership styles, wellness, time management, and creating a Leadership Portfolio. This mirrors the Fall Semester of Phase I of the Arizona Blue Chip Program.
Level 2: Pima Community College students enroll in STU 240 B to learn concepts such as mission and vision, assessing community needs, as well as service learning. Students will participate in an overnight outdoor leadership journey. This 1-credit course mirrors the Spring Semester of Phase I of the Arizona Blue Chip Program.
Level 3: Pima Community College students will engage in a year-long experience to apply the leadership principles they have learned. Students will participate in one of the following areas:
