Graduate Assistant for Leadership Programs-Blue Chip
Arizona Student Unions, Center for Student Involvement & Leadership (CSIL)
Salary:$9,500-$11,500
Hours:20 per week, evenings & weekends

Position Summary
This position will develop, coordinate, and administer leadership programs for students in the Arizona Blue Chip Program, as well as the general student population of the University of Arizona.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administration
- Assist in the administration, supervision, budgeting, fund development, and assessment of the Arizona Blue Chip Program, a four-year leadership development program for approximately 600 students.
- Coordinate selection process for returning and new Blue Chip students to live in the residential college.
- Assist in the placement of Blue Chip R.A.s.
- Coordinate Theme Selection.
- Put together and send weekely Blue Chip emails, update the Blue Chip calendar, and send updates to the Blue Chip webmaster for the Blue Chip Members website.
- Assist in Leadership Programs and Center for Student Involvement and Leadership planning, professional development, and coordination.
- Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet Department and University goals and objectives.
Fund Development
- Assist in fundraising initiatives for the Arizona Blue Chip Program and general Leadership Programs including sponsorships, grants, ad sales, licensing, and donations.
Collaboration
- Work with community partners for Phase II theme project and Phase IV meridian.
- Serve on the Leadership Team in the Center for Student Involvement & Leadership.
Programming
- Coordinate leadership programming for Blue Chip leadership residential college with 61 students.
- Assist in the coordination of the Blue Chip student staff retreat.
- Coordinate events for Blue Chip including Blue Sync, Blue Chip Homecoming gathering, Etiquette Dinner, and Service Showcase.
- Assist in the coordination of Blue Chip Opening Event, Symposium, and Leadership Day.
- Coordinate with the Assistant Theme Coordinator, a semesterly Interphase event for Phase II, III and IV students in the theme.
Advising
- Advise Phase II, III, and IV students in one theme of the Blue Chip Program.
- Recruit, train, and advise Pima Lodge Ambassadors.
- Recruit, select, train, advise, and evaluate Blue Chip Service Coordinators.
- Recruit, select, train, advise, and evaluate Lodge Ambassadors.
Curriculum Development
- Edit the Phase II theme-specific curriculum annually.
Teaching/Presenting
- Teach a 2-credit leadership theme class in the fall.
- Teach a 2-credit Team Leader training course in the spring.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or Doctoral Degree at the University of Arizona
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with leadership programs
- Strong organizational skills
- Good writing and/or editing skills
- Experience in advising college students
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Excellent presentation and speaking skills
