Graduate Assistant for Off-Campus Housing
Primary function of the position: This position directly assists the Marketing and Development Coordinator for Off-Campus Housing. There will be a focus on program development, event planning, marketing, business management and leadership for various aspects of Off Campus Housing. This Position is a one-half time (20 hours a week) 9 month academic year appointment and reports directly to the Marketing and Development Coordinator for Off-Campus Housing. Some weekend and evening hours are required, and will include the following primary duties and responsibilities:
Business Administration
- Assist with the creation of marketing and advocacy materials.
- Assist in the financial management for all projects, including invoicing, collection of monies and regular monitoring of accounts payable and receivable with the accountant.
- Supervise Off-Campus Housing student staff to maintain a professional storefront at all times including but not limited to daily business functions.
- Acquire and provide data to marketing team when requested
Programming/Event Planning/Marketing
- Serve as the primary contact person and coordinator of Apartment Rush Tours, Summer Orientation programs, and the Off-Campus Housing Fair.
- Assist in the creation of programs for non-traditional, commuter, and graduate students. Such activities include, but not limited to, Moving On, Moving Out; Kidz Corner; Lactation Station, & Good Morning Commuters.
- Create, administer, & analyze assessments that solicit feedback on programs offered by Off-Campus Housing.
Departmental Responsibilities
- Participate in the Center for Student Involvement & Leadership’s (CSIL) planning and program assessment activities.
- Attend CSIL staff meetings and participate in staff training activities.
- Participate in weekly Campus Activities Team meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree
2. Admission to a University of Arizona Graduate Program
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
1. Drivers License and the ability to obtain HOV certification through the University of Arizona.
2. Previous experience working with apartment communities or related businesses in the private or public sector.
3. Previous experience working with or advising students/volunteers and/or student organizations.
4. Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Access, InDesign and PageMaker)
